Line up all 203,973 listings and pick the one in the middle. It's a 2019 car: half the market is newer, half is older, and most of it was built between 2014 and 2022.

It asks $11,500,000. One in four listings asks less than 7.3M, and one in four more than 17.9M.

It has 84,000 km on the clock: about 12,300 km for every year on the road.

Where the supply piles up

Most of the market lives in a narrow band. Between 7 and 13 million pesos sit 35% of all listings. Above 40 million cars are few, and their prices are all over the place.

What time takes from a car

A car from this year asks a median of $20,890,000. Watch the median fall as the cars get older.

Median asking price by age, 0 to 20 years

20 years old4.2M

−40%−52%−71%

Years since model year

After 5 years the median is 12.5M, 40% less. After 10, 10.0M. After 15, 6.1M: 71% below a new one.

Each age compares different cars, not the same car over time: the mix of brands and segments changes with the years.

How we made this report

Rodar continuously reviews public used-car listings on sale portals in Chile. This report summarises 203,973 listings seen from February–October 2026, with data as of October 10, 2026.

  • We only publish aggregates: medians, quartiles and counts. We don't show individual listings, sellers or portals.
  • Every headline figure rests on at least 400 listings. Smaller groups show “No data”.
  • We use medians rather than averages so a few extreme or mistyped prices don't skew the result.
  • A car listed on several portals counts as one vehicle when we can tell.
  • Prices are asking prices, not final sale prices.
  • Cross-tabs (two variables at once, or a single model) need at least 50 listings per cell; below that they show “No data”.

Time to sell, exits and price changes show “No data” until we have at least 30 days of daily tracking.

Bring this data into every purchase.

Rodar connects market references with each car's records and readings so your team can decide how much to pay.
